The world’s biggest social network hired Bay area Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal for its legal team. Grewal is expected to join in late June as deputy general counsel of litigation at the Menlo Park, California-based Facebook.
In 2010, Grewal joined the bench in San Jose. His docket has included several high profiled cases, including Adaptix’s patent litigation campaign against numerous giant tech and telecommunications companies, Oracle’s copyright case against Google and Apple’s big-ticket patent case against Samsung.
Grewal said in a statement, that, "Joining Facebook presents a unique opportunity to work on complex legal and policy questions that affect billions of people all over the world in a variety of ways."
Colin Stretch, the VP General counsel of Facebook said that, "Paul has presided over hundreds of cases as Magistrate Judge in the Northern District of California, and has earned a reputation as a thoughtful and knowledgeable jurist with deep expertise in areas that are critically important to our company and our industry." “We look forward to having him on our team.”
