A big jolt to Nitish Kumar's government. An under-construction bridge on Aguani Sultanganj Ganga in Bihar’s Khagaria at a cost of Rs 1717 cr collapsed. The visuals were caught on cameras, that is how the two parts of the bridge collapsed one after the other. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ordered a probe to look into the reasons for the bridge collapse.

As per reports, the bridge had damage in April due to the storm. A 3 ft portion of the bridge has collapsed and drowned in the Ganga. This was the second collapse of the Aguwani-Sultanganj bridge in Bhagalpur. A similar collapse took place last year.

The collapse took place around 6 PM on Sunday and the collapse was captured. No casualties reported so far and the BJP party is taking a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the collapse. The 206-meter-long bridge is under construction. The front part of the bridge that is in between number 2 and 3 pillars collapsed.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla described the incident as the corruption in Nitish Kumar's government, he called it “ the bridge of corruption”. He called Rs 1,750 Cr of people taxes were made ‘Jal Samadhi”.
