Messaging app WhatsApp was completely down and the entire globe suffered the outage. After more than a hour of outage, WhatsApp was restored partially and is working in most of the countries. Some of them complained that WhatsApp is not working from 14 hours. The partial restoration is done in most of the cities of India and other nations. The users struggled to send and receive messages. Both personal and group chats have been impacted completely. The hashtag #WhatsAppDown is trending on Twitter. The users from India, Kenya, Indonesia, Spain and others complained about the messaging app. WhatsApp is yet to issue an official statement about the same. In October last year, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are down for six hours because of a major DNS failure.

DNS is Domain Name System that can translate human-readable hostmanes to raw numberic IP address. The computers cannot connect to the servers if DNS is not working. WhatsApp was down for 45 minutes in March 2021. WhatsApp or Meta will provide the information about the outage very soon. The web version too got impacted on October 25th and the people have found it difficult to send messages through WhatsApp. After WhatsApp was down last year, it hit the trading of assets from oil to the cryptocurrencies. Several people have prefered to use alternate platforms like Telagram.
