Bay Area Regional Medical Center closing its doors, file for the bankruptcy next week

Bay Area:
Bay Area Regional Medical center, LLC (Bay Area Regional) in Webster announced its closing and file for the bankruptcy next week. The medical center which was opened in 2014 with an investment of $200, proclaimed that they couldn’t pay their bills anymore as insurance companies weren’t offering them enough reimbursements and have decided to close to close its doors.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Bay Area Regional will close its doors on May 10, 2018. We want to thank our staff who worked tirelessly, physicians who chose to practice medicine and patients who received care at our hospital,” said Stephen K. Jones, Jr. , CEO at Bay Area Regional.

An email from an employee at the hospital stated that, more than 900 employees are affected and even patients are being immediately discharged and transferred to other hospitals.

“The hospital won’t be admitting any new patients as of Friday. The employees had been paid and would receive a final paycheck before May 7,” said spokesperson of hospital.

“Some people laughed, some people cried. People almost felt betrayed,” said nursing assistant Ray McLaughling.

Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) said it is trying to help people who lost jobs after Bay Area Regional closure.
