Smoke Drifting To Bay area From North California

Air Quality Officials said that, Smoke from fires in California and Oregon is drifting to Bay Area On Thursday. Fires in Nevada and Butte are generating smoke that is moving into Bay area.

Also, smoke from North California and Oregon fires are also coming down the coast and entering into Bay area through Golden Gate, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

Some parts of the Bay area may experience more smoke than others. Marin County is experiencing heavy drift smoke that residents will smell it, tweeted the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.

The Napa County Office of Emergency Services and the Lafayette police department said that the smoke people are smelling is from North California fires. San Mateo Country is also experiencing quite a bit of smoke from fires.

This Smoke can Irritate your eyes and airways, causing Cough, scratchy Throats and irritated sinuses. This can even trigger wheezing in people with asthma, emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, said air quality officials.

Bay area residents are suggested to reduce exposure to smoky air and are also advised to limit their outdoor activities, those who cannot stay indoor should seek out cooking centers in their respective areas.
