Doctors Treating People Who Viewed Solar Eclipse Without Eclipse Glasses

Finally totality solar eclipse is over, but for some it may have lasting effects, ophthalmologists have heard from several patients, who didn’t use eclipse glasses why seeing the eclipse even when experts warned them not to watch naked eye.

Millions of people have watched the moon blocking the sun views on Monday. While most used the special viewing glasses to enjoy the view, some took the risk of watching it with out protection. President Trump also seen the eclipse for a brief minute with out glasses.

“The natural reaction is to look up” said Dr. Vincent penza, who said that he have seen patients complaining of discomfort or vision problems after every eclipse. “If you have light sensitivity, Watery eyes, still have after image like flashy bulb then you should call someone”.

In San Francisco many people went to city Optometry after looking at the eclipse, penza said that if you have sunburned cornea it’s treatable, if a person retina can suffer damage If its exposed to too much sunlight called Solar retinopathy.

He said that Solar retinopathy can cause blurry vision or vision loss, some symptoms can take 12 hours to appear, medical experts have advised that persons who are facing problems after viewing eclipse should get there eyes thoroughly checked.

Penza also said normally when we look up at sun, its uncomfortable, but at the time of eclipse, there’s a less of that and retina doesn’t have pain receptors, he also said that he wouldn’t be surprised if he heard from more eclipse watchers on Tuesday.
