Authorities said a man died when he was being taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies in front of a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant.

According to Deputy Kimberly Alexander of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau said, at around 6:45 p.m. on 4th February deputies arrived at the 10900 block of Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk. They found that passersby were struggling to hold the man down outside a pizza restaurant.

Alexander said that two deputies spotted the man in the middle of the street trying to get inside cars while people were in them.

They later learned that the man had gotten into a parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Studebaker Road in Norwalk and was trying to get into a second one.

The deputy said the man then ran southbound toward Firestone and jumped into the flatbed of an occupied truck.

Later he was seen in only shirt and underwear entering a Norwalk business.
