Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, who is 90 years old, has been taken to a private hospital in Mumbai, as reported by sources. The writer's oldest son and Bollywood star Salman Khan left Lilavati Hospital in Bandra about an hour ago after visiting him, the sources said. According to PTI, Salim Khan was admitted to the hospital in the morning. He is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) there. His daughter Alvira Khan, son-in-law Atul Agnihotri, and grandson Ayaan Agnihotri also came to see the famous screenwriter at the hospital. Additionally, Arpita Khan's husband, actor Ayush Sharma, was seen at the hospital. Salim Khan is known for writing classic films with his former partner Javed Akhtar, including Sholay, Haathi Mere Saathi, Zanjeer, and Mr India. He celebrated his 90th birthday on November 24, 2025.
Last year, Salim Khan's youngest son and producer Sohail Khan posted a funny picture of his parents along with his stepmother, actress Helen, on Instagram, and it became very popular online. He captioned the picture "The best triangular series ever played. " Just before his 90th birthday, Salim Khan and his first wife Salma Khan celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary with family and close friends. During an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman Khan shared that his father still enjoys food a lot. He mentioned that Salim Khan has "two or three parathas, then rice, then meat, and dessert - twice a day." Despite everything, Salim Khan makes sure to take a walk every day. His favorite path is from their Bandra home in Galaxy Apartments to the Bandstand area, which his fans got to see in the Prime Video series Angry Young Men (2024).
